1. AUDIT AND DIGITIZATION X 4

Minimum requirements:
• • Matric with 1 year relevant experience

Key Performance Areas:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Assisting compiling an inventory of museum collections including addressing problems identified during previous inventory processes
• Compiling electronic database in MS Excel according to prescribed provincial template
• Integrating information from documents relating to the collections in an MS Excel database
• Updating the database as necessary
• Assisting with preventive conservation process and general housekeeping related to collections
• Assisting with packing and moving the collection.
• Assisting with the installation of small exhibitions.

• Submitting monthly reports.
• Making out invoices
• Sales of herbal teas
• Assisting in the gardens when needed
• Assisting in any other areas as requested by management.

Competencies/skills:
• Computer Proficiency (MS Office, especially MS Excel)
• Communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional official language of the Western Cape (Afrikaans or isiXhosa)
• Attention to detail, accuracy & ability to solve problems
• Time management

2. Heritage and Tourism X2

• Applicants must be between the ages of 18-35 years.
Key Performance Areas:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Conduct site tours as required
• Assist with presenting of museum education programmes
• General administrative office support such as filing and managing internal post.
• Assisting with event management such as quotations and logistics.
• Manage museum venue diary
• Assist at museum reception
• Making out invoices

• Sales of herbal teas
• Assisting in any other areas as requested by management.

Competencies/skills:
• Office management skills
• Computer Proficiency (MS Office)
• Communication skills (verbal and written)
• Report and minute writing in English
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional official language of the Western Cape (Afrikaans or isiXhosa)
• Attention to detail & ability to solve problems
• Time management
• Must be friendly and outgoing

3. Maintenance and Gardening X1

Key Performance Areas:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Cleaning the museum site by implementing housekeeping plan
• Assist with venue and logistical support for museum events
• Keep good record of cleaning material through proper stocktaking
• Provide assistance to administrative officer regarding property management

Gardens:
• Maintaining the Museum gardens in all aspects.

• Reporting any irregularities to the museum manager.

Herb Department:
• Cutting and drying of herbs
• Ensure sufficient levels of herb stock at all times
• Storage of herbs
• Mixing of herbal teas
• Making up packages for sale
• Keeping herbal records
• Receiving herb orders, packaging and sending out herb products
• Marketing of museum herbs
• Assisting in any other areas as requested by management.

Competencies/skills:
• Communication skills (verbal and written)
• Report and record keeping
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional official language of the Western Cape (Afrikaans or isiXhosa)
• Attention to detail & ability to solve problems
• Time management
• Must be willing to work with hands and be energetic person.
